At a Management meeting held on Monday evening the decision was taken to cancel all the remaining League fixtures and Club competitions due to the Coronavirus outbreak with immediate effect.

I am afraid this also means that all the present League results are null and void.

With members health and well-being our main concern we have taken this action following the Governments and EIBA’s advice and guidelines.

We appreciate that a number of members will be disappointed in this, especially those at the top of the leagues or in finals, but we feel that our members health is much more important.

The Club AGM scheduled for March 24th and the Presentation Evening, April 24th, have also been cancelled.

We are still hoping to run the summer leagues in some kind of format, Coronavirus allowing, so please Captains put your teams in.

Because of the financial impact of these cancellations the leagues are now more important than ever for the financial well-being of the Club so will all Captains put in your teams for both summer and winter leagues please. The forms are still on the remotes desk.

Next winter seasons National entry forms are in a plastic stand on the scoreboard stage.

Closing date April 24th.

On a personal note. After being in the position for five years I have decided to stand down as Company Secretary.  I am also, after six years, standing down as Club Secretary. I have personal reasons for making these decisions. I have enjoyed my time in these roles and would like to thank my fellow Committee members and all the Club members for their help and support.

The club is lucky to have two volunteers to step into these roles. The new Company Secretary is Dave Berry who has been on the Management Committee for a number of years and the new Club Secretary is Anita Frost who we know from her time as Centre manager. I wish them both the very best of luck and hope they enjoy their time in serving the Club as I did. I will of course give them any help if they require it.

Kind regards Steve Poyser
